HIGH-DEFINITION ULTRASOUND AND PHOTOACOUSTIC IMAGING
The AniCan core facility is located in the Centre de Recherche en Cancerologie de Lyon (Cancer Research Center of Lyon) (CRCL, SFR Santé).
It is equipped with Phenocan equipment for high-definition ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging, the Vevo LAZR® by Visualsonics.
This equipment is adapted to small animals (mice and rats) to combine “anatomic” and “functional” imaging.
Examples of applications:
- Anatomic observation
- Longitudinal studies of animals with tumors
- Accurate measurement of tumor volume (3D modeling)
- Vascularization and oxygenation/hypoxia of tumors and organs
- Molecular imaging (labeling with contrast material)
- Ultrasound guiding (ex: intracardiac injection, intrathymic injection)
- Gestational follow-up
