LyonSysBio 2016 : 17 et 18 Novembre ; MTI meeting satellite : 16 Novembre ; SeMoVi - 10 ans déjà - 28 septembre

LyonSysBio

LyonSysBio is the yearly international conference organized by BioSyL the Systems Biology Alliance of Lyon (http://www.biosyl.org/).

Our goal is to promote exchanges between scientists from different disciplines (biology, mathematics, computer sciences, physics, social sciences) who are interested in the analysis of the wealth of data generated by modern biology, as well as the construction of the necessary modeling tools to gain system level thoughtful insights.

In 2016, the conference will be held from November 17th to 18th. Keynote lectures will be delivered by invited speakers, on state-of-the-art advances in various domains of Systems Biology (list available on the conference website).

In addition, the conference program leaves ample space for contributed talks and posters for which proposals are welcome. We wish to favor results from truly multidisciplinary works.

Please use the online system to submit a one-page abstract (maximum 500 words, in English) by October 10th, 2016: http://lyonsysbio2016.sciencesconf.org

To register and to submit an abstract, you will have to create a sciencesconf.org account by filling the on-line registration and submission forms.

Similarly to our previous editions, registration will be free but mandatory for students. Registration fees for non-students will be of 100 euros. A Gala reception will be organized on November 17th. Let’s party!

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Lyon for LyonSysbio 2016 !

François Briat for the local organising committee.

MTI

MEET THE INDUSTRY (MTI) is the Academic-Industry Interactive Workshop on Systems Biology, jointly organized by BioSyL, the Systems Biology Alliance of Lyon and the Laboratories of Excellence ECOFECT (eco-evolutionary dynamics of infectious diseases) and MILYON (Mathematics and theoretical computer science of Lyon).

MTI is the satellite meeting of Lyon SysBio 2016 International conference, that will be held in November 16th:  https://mti2016.sciencesconf.org

This year, MTI will be organized around the three following themes:

1. Vaccine Design.

2. Modeling intra-cellular processes.

3. Systems Metabolism.

A final session entitled “Interface PhDs” will be dedicated to presenting granting schemes for financing joint academic-industry thesis with live examples of young colleagues who chose this path.

Altogether, MTI will offer a unique opportunity for private and public researchers to share ideas around systems biology in a stimulating environment.

Registration is free but mandatory.

SeMoVi

SeMoVi - 10 years anniversary - 28th of September  affiche

10 years, yeah !

In 2016, we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of our Semovi seminar. In 2006, a group of enthusiastic colleagues decided to launch a bimonthly seminar in order to foster the emergence of a local community in modeling of living systems. Since then, 37 seminars have been organized (the next one will be the 38th and will be taking place the 11th of  May). More than 110 colleagues have been invited to introduce their work in front of a truly multidisciplinary audience. The themes ranged very widely between “Whole cell model of Mycoplasma genitalium”; “Modeling silicon nanopores”; “Brain Network Analysis of Functional Neuroimaging Data”; “Mathematical models for carbohydrate uptake and sensing in bacteria”; “Models, Methods and Inference in Molecular Evolution ”; “Escape and attack jumps of planktonic copepods” and “Stochastic models for carcinogenesis” to name but a few.

We decided to celebrate this anniversary by organizing a very special Semovi edition, that will host six of our previous invited guests, mixing local and international scientists.
