INRAE, the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment, started in January 2020. It is the merge between INRA, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, and IRSTEA, the French National Institute for Research in Science and Technology for the Environment and Agriculture. INRAE's missions are “to carry out, organise and coordinate scientific and technological research in the fields of agriculture, food, forestry, the environment, water, biodiversity, the bioeconomy, the circular economy, and sustainable land and risk management in the above areas”.

Hospices Civils de Lyon is a public institution and France's second-largest university hospital centre (CHU). It is a centre of expertise integrating all disciplines, with a broad range of human, technical and logistical resources carrying out its missions of care, teaching, research and medical innovation, prevention and health education. More than 22,000 professionals, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, devote themselves daily thereby contributing to the constant improvement of health. Today, the HCL comprises 14 multidisciplinary or specialised establishments that carry out a wide range of missions.
