Presentation of the PBES platform:

The Plateau de Biologie Expérimentale de la Souris (AniRA-PBES) offers researchers services for the creation, breeding and production of transgenic murine lines, and for experiments in A1, A2 and A3 confinement. AniRA-PBES is part of the IBiSA-labeled AniRA regional platform, a member of the Celphedia national research infrastructure. As such, it is open to the entire academic and industrial, regional and national scientific community.  The PBES offers its users and the scientific community training in animal experimentation (nationally accredited level B training), transgenesis, embryo manipulation, cryopreservation of murine transgenic lines and ES cell culture.

ACTIVITIES

The PBES offers a wide range of services for:

• Breeding and production in ventilated cages of EOPS (Specific Pathogenic Organism Free) murine lines => 3000 cages.
• Provision and maintenance of animals in experimental confinement zones A1, A2 or A3 => 2000 cages.
• Performance of various experiments (sampling, injections, weighing, etc.).
• Production of genetically modified lines by classical transgenesis, homologous recombination via ES cells, lentigenesis (in collaboration with the vectorology platform), genome editing.
• Decontamination of lines by aseptic embryo transfer.
• Cryopreservation of lines in the form of embryos, sperm or ovaries and their distribution.
• Software to manage breeding, housing and invoicing.

 Experimental protocols are subject to approval by the Ethics Committee and/or the Transgenesis Committee prior to implementation. Ethics Committee: CECCAPP

CERTIFICATION

The AniRA-PBES Service has been  ISO 9001:2015 certified since June 2023.
